    Two more flu deaths reported in Arkansas

    Two more flu-related deaths have been reported in Arkansas, bringing the total number of deaths this season to six, according to the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH). According to the Weekly Influenza Report, 1,881 positive flu tests have been reported to the ADH online database since September 29, 2019. More than 200 positive tests were reported the week of Saturday, November 30. Each year about 25-30 million flu cases are reported around the U.S. and more than 200,000 people end up in the hospital because of it.The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported a total of 5 pediatric deaths nationwide this season. No pediatric deaths have been reported in Arkansas. Doctors say the best way to avoid the flu is with the vaccine. The most vulnerable people are children under the age of 6 months and adults over 65.
